Bali

Bali has something for everyone, and it’s amazing how much there is to see (and photograph) on one island. There are more temples than you could possibly visit, lush rice fields and terraces to admire, sandy beaches with world-class surfing conditions, and the local wildlife (monkeys, mostly). Add in the fact that the Balinese people are so lovely and hospitable, and you will be struggling for a good reason not to visit.

Bali is a popular destination for a variety of different groups, often seeking to enjoy different elements of the Balinese lifestyle. Many American and European travellers have come to see Bali as a “wellness” destination and tend to congregate around Ubud. Separately, there’s the digital nomad community who come for the relatively cheap lifestyle and have based themselves around Ubud and Canggu. Last but not least, Australians (and others too) flock to the beaches along the Western shores, particularly around Kuta.
