Teatro la Fenice

The Phoenix (“La Fenice”) theatre seems to have been prophetically named as it has burned down three times since 1774, and so named in reference to the opera company’s ability to rise from the ashes like a Phoenix. A famous opera house across Europe, many composers have premiered operas here including Verdi’s La Traviata, as works by Bellini, Donizetti, and Rossini.
