A modern curiosity, the Libreria Acqua Alta bookstore (@libreriaacquaalta) is definitely built to live with the acqua alta (high water) that can afflict the city. Check out the gondola bookshelf, the numerous bathtubs and crates used to keep books elevated, the cute courtyard, the entry point to the nearby canal (at the back of the shop) and the rear courtyard with “stairs” to view the nearby canal.

This is a bookstore and so has paying customers during the day. Please be courteous to others, including wearing your backpack on your front so that you don’t knock others (or books).
