Commonly known as the South gate, Tonle Om gate has the largest collection of giant Hindu god and demon sculptures in Angkor Archaeological Park, although many are copies. On the East side are the 54 asuras (demons, the “angry” faces), and West side the 54 devas (gods). These sculptures are holding a large naga (serpent), and are a representation of the Hindu story of the Churning of the Ocean of Milk.
