Terrace of the Elephants

The Terrace of the Elephants is a 350-metre long structure attached to the palace of Phimeanakas and was Javayarman II’s viewing platform for grand ceremonies. Although much of the structure is in ruins, you can still see the life-sized lions and garudas (birds) that decorate its middle section. At the end of each side is the procession of elephants together with their riders.
