Banteay Samré

Bantay Samré, named after a race from nearby Phnom Kulen, was constructed by Suryavarman II around the same time as Angkor Wat. A single main tower is linked to four wings and two nearby libraries. The layout suggests an inner moat was present at an earlier stage. The site has been restored to good condition compared with many temples in the area.
