Ahu Vinapu

Ahu Vinapu is a neatly maintained site at the Eastern edge of the Hanga Roa airport. It is the archaeological site of one of the largest ahu, oriented to face the sunrise during the Winter solstice. The stonemasonry consists of large, carefully fitted slabs of basalt, reminiscent of the Incan designs seen in Cusco (Peru).
